Canada Day is coming to Cowtown! To help parents looking for fun, family-friendly Canada Day events in Calgary, we’ve assembled a list of all the great activities that you can enjoy with your kids to mark Canada’s 148th birthday on July 1.
Calgary has tons of events to enjoy this Canada Day, with day-long festivities, music, and fireworks throughout the city, the Downtown Calgary Family Experience, the EV Street Fair, Heritage Park’s 50th birthday celebration, and much more.
City of Calgary Canada Day Celebrations
Join the City of Calgary to celebrate Canada’s birthday with free activities for the whole family including the Living Flag demonstration, a First Nations Powwow on Prince’s Island, live musical entertainment on the Riverfront stage, the Food Truck Roundup and BassBus at Festival Market, and of course an amazing Fireworks display presented by Hudson’s Bay.

Downtown Calgary Family Experience
Bring the whole family to celebrate Canada Day and the 30th birthday of Harry the Horse! Activities throughout the day include stage entertainment, photo booths, interactive displays, and a whole lot more. A special birthday cake celebration will be held at 1:30 with cake for the first 3000 people.

EV Street Fair
Visit the EV Street Fair for all kinds of family fun, including craft and artisan vendors, children’s activities, Apostles Motorcycle Society, great music, and street eats. Bring the whole family to Calgary’s premier classic car show with North American beauties and imports at historic Fort Calgary. Then head down to the us at the East Village Experience Centre to discover everything about the East Village.

Canada Day at Fort Calgary
Head over to Fort Calgary to enjoy a free pancake breakfast and children’s activities including jump houses, pony rides, and a petting zoo. Outdoor events are free! The hub of their Canada Day celebrations is the Fort Calgary Stage with entertainment featuring some of Calgary’s finest performers.

Canada/Dominion Day at Heritage Park
Celebrate Canada Day the old fashioned way with your friends and family at Heritage Park! Join us for a day packed full of fun for all – including a free pancake breakfast for the first 2015 guests in the gates before 10:30am! Don’t miss our spectacular Dominion Day parade through the historical village with guests from the Calgary Police Service Pipe Band, Vintage motor vehicles, featuring Foothills Model T Ford Club, Horse-drawn vehicles, costumed townsfolk and more!
