Developed by the French company Motor Development International (MDI), the machine called AIRPod is driven by compressed air, a small three-seater car, a bit like a bubble. Although it has been produced since 2009, for a long time it caused everyone only a condescending smile. Indeed, initially it could only be operated in a warm climate: the pneumatic propeller engine developed in the early 1990s did not start at low temperatures. And although a compressed air heating system has already been developed today, expanding the geography of the AIRPod application, it can only be purchased in Hawaii (USA). If you do not want such exoticism and want to be confident in your car, then you can use the services, shipping car to Hawaii now is possible without problems.
It is planned to release the AIRPod in three versions, differing in the number of passenger seats and the volume for storage and transportation of goods.
In the spring of 2015, the independent company ZPM (Zero Pollution Motor – “Zero Pollution Engines”) held a public road show presentation in prime time on the American ABC TV channel in order to attract investors. ZPM bought from the French the right to manufacture and sell a new AIRPod model – so far only in Hawaii, chosen as the “launch market”.
In the meantime, only residents of Hawaii can order an AIRPod. To do this, they need to pay a deposit of one thousand dollars. The total cost of such a car is 10 thousand US dollars.
